In keeping with its cherished tradition of honouring senior members who have crossed the age of 80, The Navy League celebrated the 82nd birthday of Rear Admiral Ejaz Husain, HI(M), SI(M), PN (Retd). The occasion brought together retired naval officers to pay tribute to a distinguished veteran whose exemplary service, leadership and professional contributions remain a source of great pride.
The Navy League celebrated the 82nd birthday of Rear Admiral Ejaz Husain, HI(M), SI(M), PN (Retd), on 12 August 2026 at the Navy League Office, Karachi.It is a cherished tradition of The Navy League to celebrate the birthdays of its senior members who have crossed the age of 80 years. The tradition reflects the League’s respect and affection for its senior veterans and provides an opportunity to honour their services and strengthen the bonds of fellowship within the naval fraternity. The occasion was attended by senior and junior retired Pakistan Navy officers, who joined together to honour a distinguished naval officer and celebrate this memorable milestone. The gathering reflected the strong bonds of comradeship, respect and fellowship that continue to unite members of the naval fraternity.
A cake-cutting ceremony was held to mark the occasion. President The Navy League, Commodore Tajud-Din Najmi, SI(M), PN (Retd), presented a flower bouquet to Rear Admiral Ejaz Husain on behalf of The Navy League and its members, conveying their warm felicitations and best wishes.
Rear Admiral Ejaz Husain is an Electrical Engineer by profession. He joined the Pakistan Navy in November 1962 and retired in July 2000 after 37½ years of meritorious service. During an accomplished naval career, he held several important appointments, with the final 13 years of his service spent in senior management positions in the Ministry of Defence, Naval Headquarters and the Logistics Command at Karachi. His extensive professional experience includes nearly 12 years in procurement-related assignments and six years at the Naval Engineering College, where he served initially as a Senior Lecturer and later as Principal and Commandant. His responsibilities covered policy formulation, strategic planning, technical logistics, and the overall direction of rebuilding, repair and maintenance activities of the Pakistan Navy fleet.
As Managing Director of the Pakistan Navy Dockyard, Rear Admiral Ejaz Husain planned and initiated the process for ISO 9002 certification of Dockyard activities. During his tenure in the Ministry of Defence, he was closely involved in developing indigenous support capabilities for the Pakistan Navy and in negotiations and contracting with European and Chinese shipyards for the local construction of submarines. Alongside his distinguished engineering and naval career, he obtained an MBA in Marketing from the Institute of Business Administration in 1987.
In recognition of his outstanding and meritorious services to the Pakistan Navy and the country, Rear Admiral Ejaz Husain was honoured by the President of Pakistan with both Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military).
The birthday celebration concluded with warm felicitations and prayers from members of The Navy League for his continued good health, happiness and a long life.
