Supporting learning and wellbeing
The Navy League and Sharmeen Khan Memorial Foundation have agreed a five-year framework to strengthen education, student health and nutritional support at Baba Island School, with an initial educational focus on Grades 1 to 5.
Strengthening primary education
The agreement covers independent assessments in English, Mathematics, Science and Urdu, alongside teacher evaluations and training. It also provides for subject teachers, curriculum support, digital learning, textbooks, uniforms and teaching supplies.
Student health and nutrition
The agreed scope includes health screening and baseline medical evaluations, followed by appropriate interventions. It also provides for structured meals and nutritional supplementation for primary school students.
Working together at the school
The Foundation is responsible for technical leadership, assessments, teacher recruitment and training, payment of its school staff, and programme monitoring. The Navy League supports school administration, maintenance, boat transport for Foundation staff, logistics and coordination with the Sindh Government and Sindh Education Foundation.
Leads programme design and delivery, supports its teachers and staff, and reports on programme performance.
Provides local administration, transport and operational support, and manages institutional coordination.
