Early childhood learning

An early childhood learning centre, classroom expansion and teacher training.

Learning from the earliest years

Mohammad Jawed Akhai Foundation

The Navy League and Mohammad Jawed Akhai Foundation are working together to expand early childhood learning at Baba Island School, with classroom provision and teacher training at the centre of the collaboration.

A foundation in early learning

The original Memorandum of Understanding established an early childhood learning centre at the DMC Boys/Girls School, KZ-05, Baba Island, Keamari, Karachi. The six-month pilot began with 30 children aged three to five and training for three teachers.

An expanded commitment

Following evaluation of the pilot, the partners agreed to expand the project. The addendum, executed on 18 May 2026 and effective from 25 March 2026, provides for seven classrooms and one office, accommodating a total of 200 children, including those in the pilot.

Investing in teachers

The expanded agreement provides for training a total of 16 teachers, including the pilot teachers, within six months beginning 1 June 2026. These figures describe the agreed programme scope, rather than a verified count of completed activities.
